What is ◯◯ City Children's Cafeteria?
Congrant is an NPO that runs a children's cafeteria in XX City. The first XX City Children's Cafeteria was held in April 2013 for children who do not have the habit of eating meals with their families when they return home, such as those from dual-income or single-parent families. It started small with just 2-3 children, but the existence of the children's cafeteria gradually spread to their friends, and the number of children participating increased rapidly. Now, eight years after
the start of the activity, XX City Children's Cafeteria has become a place where more than 30 children gather each time.

Background of the activities and social issues
In Japan, children's cafeterias began in 2012. The activity spread nationwide in a short time, and it is said that there are now more than 150 children's cafeterias nationwide. Why on earth are there so many children's cafeterias?
One of the reasons is the problem of "child poverty."
Japan has been thought of as an economically prosperous country, but the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has released shocking data showing that 16.3% of children, or one in six, live in poverty. Although this figure improved to 13.9% in 2015, approximately 2.8 million children still live in poverty. Furthermore,
the problem of poverty among children in single-parent families is serious, with one in two children living in poverty. It is said to be the lowest level among developed countries, and there are many children who cannot eat a satisfactory meal and who eat alone almost every day.
Message from the CEO

Thank you for coming to this page. I am Suzuki Taro, the representative of NPO Congrant.
I wanted to become a teacher in order to watch over and support children as they grew up happily and joyfully. During my time as a student, I learned about the current situation of children and started up the XX City Children's Cafeteria to solve their problems from outside of school.
Five years after starting our activities, more than 30 children now visit the cafeteria every time. This place has become an indispensable place for children. We look forward to your kind support so that we can continue to preserve a place for children to belong. Suzuki Taro, Representative of
NPO Congrant
How donations will be used

XX City Children's Cafeteria is made possible by your support. Until now, all the food was provided by local residents, but the number of children has increased and it has become difficult to provide everything. In order to continue our activities, we would like to at least cover the transportation costs of the students who come as volunteers.
Your donations will be used mainly for purchasing food and the transportation costs of volunteers.
If 10 people donate 3,000 yen, we can run one Children's Cafeteria and 30 children can have fun until the evening.
