A Decade of Support: Seisen International School's Commitment to Girls' Education │ 清泉インターナショナルの女子教育への支援活動
Since 2013, Seisen International School has engaged in various fundraising activities to support Room to Read. Their contributions to date have helped provide one year of education for approximately 20 girls living in low-income communities.

- More than 773 million people cannot read; two-thirds of these individuals are women and girls.
- Among 10-year olds living in low and middle-income countries, seven out of ten cannot read and understand a simple text and are considered to be living in learning poverty.

Room to Read’s innovative model focuses on the two most critical stages of a child’s education: primary school, where foundational literacy skills are developed, and secondary school, where girls receive the support they need to stay in school. We drive deep, systemic change in schools across low-income communities to help children create a brighter future.

We have earned top ratings for financial health and transparency. 86% of all donations are invested directly into programs in the communities we serve. Room to Read has earned the highest possible rating (4 stars) from Charity Navigator, an independent evaluator of nonprofits, for the year 2022.
We also received perfect scores in the areas of Leadership & Adaptability and Accountability & Finance. We’ve held this top rating for 17 consecutive years—an achievement rare among the 1.4 million nonprofits operating in the U.S.
3. Locally Rooted Approach │ 地域に根ざしたアプローチ
We partner with ministries of education and local communities to design and implement programs tailored to each country and region’s cultural context and specific needs. This localized approach ensures that outcomes are sustainable and effective.

4. Expanding Opportunities for Girls │ 少女たちの可能性を広げる
Our Girls’ Education (Gender Equality) Program provides not only academic support but also life skills education, helping girls build confidence and make informed choices. In recent years, we have also expanded gender equality education to include boys.
女子教育（ジェンダー平等）プログラムでは、学業支援だけでなくライフスキル教育も行い、少女たちが自信と選択肢を持てるよう支えています。近年では、男子に対してもジェンダー平等教育の提供を広げています。
