Single Mothers’ Sisterhood is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the self-care and connection among single mothers in Japan. We offer opportunities to support their well-being and help them feel more connected, through online self-care classes held four times a week. Each year, we publish essays written by single mothers in May and December, to honor the many shapes family can take. In our fifth year, we’re launching a special interview series to revisit the voices behind the essays—and where they are now.

③Listening to My Own Voice

This spring marks the 5th anniversary of the Single Mothers’ Sisterhood’s Mother’s Day Campaign. To celebrate this milestone, we’re revisiting the voices of women who have contributed essays over the years.
In this special interview series, we catch up with them to hear where life has taken them since. Our third guest is Minako Goto, who’s been part of the campaign since the very beginning.
We invite you to read this interview alongside her powerful essays.
