Continuing the Legacy of Daishin Judo Club
Thanks to your unwavering support, Daishin Judo Club is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to every single one of you who has supported us throughout the years.
This message is written on behalf of my father, Akihiro Matsuura, the founder of Daishin Judo Club.
I am his daughter, Yoko Reynolds. This week, my father turned 76 years old. Due to age and declining strength, he has now retired from teaching judo—a passion he pursued for many decades.
At this turning point, there was a moment when we considered closing the dojo.
However, after receiving many heartfelt messages from current students, alumni, and community members saying, “Please don’t let this dojo go,” we were reminded of how truly precious this place is—not only for our local community, but for the future of children yet to come.
In August, 2025, we are planning a 50th anniversary celebration at Daishin Dojo.
Matsuura Akihiro is also scheduled to attend, but due to his declining health, this may be the last time he is able to appear before everyone.
We sincerely hope this will be an opportunity for him to personally say "thank you" to all those who have supported him over the years.
We would be delighted if you could come see him.
From now on, Daishin Dojo will be carried on by two dedicated successors, Mr. Tanaka and Mr. Miyake, who will inherit and uphold my father's vision.
Request for Donations
To continue the activities of Daishin Judo Club, we are currently facing some real challenges.
Until now, the dojo has been supported not only by monthly tuition fees from judo students but also by income from my father's osteopathic clinic. However, the clinic had closed, making it difficult to maintain stable operations as we have in the past.
Currently, practice is held only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. With limited income from judo alone, it has become increasingly hard to cover ongoing expenses such as rent (the first and second floors) and repairs to our aging facilities. In addition, the second floor of the dojo remains underutilized, standing as empty space.
Given these circumstances, we are turning to our community for support through donations. Our goal is to raise 5 million yen, which will help cover operating costs for the next ten years and ensure that we can continue passing judo on to the next generation.
There is no set amount for donations—any contribution, large or small, is deeply appreciated. We sincerely ask for your warm support to help sustain the future of Daishin Judo Club.
大新柔道会の継続について
おかげさまで、大新柔道会は創立50周年を迎えることができました。
これまで支えてくださった皆さまお一人おひとりに、心より感謝申し上げます。
この文章は、創設者・松浦明弘の次女であるレイノルズ容子が代筆しております。
父は今週、76歳を迎えました。年齢と体力の衰えにより、長年続けてきた柔道の指導からは、ついに引退することとなりました。
この節目に、「そろそろ道場を閉めようか」と考えた時期もありました。
しかし、今も道場に通う子どもたちや、卒業生、地域の皆さまから「この場所を残してほしい」という温かい声を数多くいただき、改めて、大新道場が地域にとって、そして未来の子どもたちにとって、かけがえのない場所であることを強く感じています。
2025年8月には、大新道場で50周年記念パーティーを企画しております。 松浦明弘も参加予定ですが、体力の衰えにより、皆さまの前に立つのは、これが最後になると思います。 長年支えてくださった皆さまへ、本人から直接「ありがとう」を伝える機会になればと願っております。ぜひ会いにいらしてください。
これからは、父の想いを受け継ぎ、母の親戚にあたる田中雄大先生と事務係として三宅先生の2人が大新道場を引き継いでくださいます。
ご寄付のお願い
大新柔道会をこれからも継続していくためには、現実的な課題があります。
これまで道場の運営は、柔道のお月謝に加え、父が営んでいた接骨院の収入によって支えられてきました。しかし、その接骨院を閉めることとなり、これまでのような安定した運営が難しくなってきています。
現在、練習は月曜・水曜・金曜の週3日ですが、柔道のお月謝だけの収入では家賃や老朽化した設備の修繕費をまかないきれず、このままでは継続が困難です。道場2階も空きスペースのままで、十分に活用されていない状況です。
そこで今回、皆さまのお力をお借りし、寄付という形でのご支援をお願いすることにしました。
目標金額は500万円。これにより、今後10年間の運営費を確保できます。ご寄付の金額に決まりはありません。
