【GLOBIS x Hokurikumirai Fund】 Donation page

This fund supports activities related to the ``Reiwa 6 Noto Peninsula Earthquake,'' which occurred in Ishikawa Prefecture at around 4:10 pm on January 1, 2020, with a maximum seismic intensity of 7. In order to help those affected by the disaster live their evacuation lives as safely and securely as possible, and to achieve recovery as soon as possible, we collaborate with various organization.

project overview

At around 16:10 on January 1st, there was an earthquake with its epicenter in the Noto region of Ishikawa Prefecture, with a seismic intensity of 7 on the Shiga Town, and a seismic intensity of 6+ on the Suzu City, Nanao City, and Wajima City.

[Damage status]
Damage status as of 14:00 on January 25, 2024 (Ishikawa prefecture only)
Deaths: 236 people,
seriously injured: 1,176 people,
safety unknown: 19 people
Houses damaged: 41,834
people Number of evacuees: 14,556 people

Power outage approximately 3,900 households (Noto region)
Water outage approximately 44,960 households

In addition to the collapsed buildings and landslides caused by the earthquake itself, tsunamis were also observed in various parts of Ishikawa Prefecture, and at Wajima Port, where a major tsunami warning was issued, a tsunami of over 1.2 meters was observed. The tsunami has also caused damage to homes along the coast.

In addition, roads in the Noto area have been cut off by landslides and other causes, making it impossible for vehicles to pass, making it difficult for evacuation supplies and medical care to reach the area.

Evacuation life has become extremely difficult due to water outages and shortages of supplies, and the fatigue of the disaster victims has reached its peak.

Currently, NPOs/NGOs and local businesses from all over the country have begun activities to support disaster victims.
In order to support these activities, we need not only donations provided directly to disaster victims, but also ``support funds'' to support support activities.

The Hokurikumirai Fund collaborates with various organizations in Ishikawa Prefecture to grasp the changing needs of disaster relief assistance, and provides assistance to disaster-stricken areas through grants to local NPOs and other active organizations.

Additionally, due to the extensive damage to houses caused by the recent earthquake, there are concerns that the evacuation period will be prolonged.

As a community foundation with roots in Ishikawa Prefecture, we will provide long-lasting support not only during the emergency period, but also through the recovery and reconstruction periods, until victims and affected areas are able to walk on their own feet.

・Life support activities for disaster victims
・Reconstruction activities in disaster-stricken areas
・Disaster prevention/mitigation activities

As the needs of disaster victims and local communities continue to diversify as we move through the emergency phase, the Hokurikumirai Fund will continue to listen to the voices of local communities. In particular, we plan to prioritize support for activities that reflect the needs of women, children and youth, and minority groups.
From now on, we will publish grant information as soon as possible, and recipients will be determined through public recruitment and screening.

Furthermore, 15% of the donation amount will be allocated to our organization's operating expenses related to disaster relief. The funds are expected to be used for expenses such as report creation and printing costs, secretariat transportation costs, and personnel costs related to this fund.
