野生生物の商業利用はこんなところにも…
自給自足生活での野生生物の利用と違い、商業利用では「利益を増やしたい」「自分も稼ぎたい」と絶滅するまで捕りつくしてしまうおそれがあります。さらに国際取引が行われると消費国で高価に売れれば「多少お金がかかっても捕りたい」、「これまでの地域で捕れなくなったらから別のところで捕る」と利用の圧力は強く広範囲になります。
そのような野生生物の商業利用に歯止めをかけ、絶滅から守るために、ワシントン条約（絶滅のおそれのある野生動植物の種の国際取引に関する条約）や種の保存法（絶滅のおそれのある野生動植物の種の保存に関する法律）があります。しかしそれらの規制が不十分だったり、規制の対象ではない生き物が新たに取引されるようになったりするため、継続して活動を続ける必要があります。
International trade in wildlife poses a threat to extinction
CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and Species Conservation Act exist to curb commercial exploitation of wildlife and protect them from extinction. However, these regulations are insufficient, and new species not covered by these regulations are being traded, making our continuous efforts necessary.

私たちは国際会議に継続して参加し、世界のNGOと協力して活動しています。
日本政府は野生生物の取引規制にとても消極的なので、国際会議の場で日本のNGOが保全の立場で参加し、世界のNGOと協力を深めることは大きな意味があります。また日本のマスメディアはこの話題をほとんど取り上げないので、日本語で国際会議の参加報告をSNSやブログを使って発信しています。
これらの国際会議の参加費用は皆様からの寄付が支えています。
Continuous participation in international conferences to prevent extinction of wildlife worldwide due to Japanese consumption
As the Japanese government is very reluctant to regulate the trade of wildlife, it is of great significance for Japanese NGOs like us to participate in international conferences from a conservation standpoint and deepen cooperation with NGOs around the world. Furthermore, since the Japanese media rarely covers this issue, we use social media and blogs to share reports on these conferences to Japanese people in Japanese language.

野生生物を保全する人を増やす「ワイルドライフ カレッジ」
「１年後の私は野生生物のために何かできるようになっている」を目標に、ウェビナーと実地学習を組み合わせた１年間のカリキュラム「ワイルドライフカレッジ」を開講しています。知識の伝達で終わらず、野生生物に関する話題を通じて、どうすることが保全になるのかを考えます。
経済的理由で学びの機会が失われないよう、学生のウェビナー受講料を無料にしています。
Wildlife College
With the goal "To be able to do something for conservation of wildlife in a year," we offer a one-year curriculum called "Wildlife College," which combines webinars and field learning open to public. It goes beyond simply transmitting knowledge; through discussions about wildlife, we encourage students to consider what really constitutes conservation.
Webinar participation of students is free in order to ensure that learning opportunities are not lost due to financial reasons.

SNS等を使って、野生生物保全の普及啓発活動を行っています。
ポットキャストを使った、JWCSラジオ「生きもの地球ツアー」は、リスナーからの野生生物や保全に関する質問に答える番組です。
またFacebook、X、Blueskyから、野生生物保全に関する国内外のニュースや論文の紹介をしています。
YouTubeでは、JWCSが開催したセミナー等のアーカイブを公開しています。おすすめは「象牙を使わない箏コンサート」のダイジェスト版で、象牙代替品の音色を確かめることができます。

We conduct awareness-raising activities for wildlife conservation using social media and other platforms.
Our podcast, "Tour of Creatures on the Earth," is a program that answers listeners’ questions about wildlife and conservation.
We also share domestic and international news and research papers on wildlife conservation on Facebook, X, and Bluesky.
On YouTube, we publish archives of seminars and other events held by JWCS. Please visit the digest version of the "Ivory-Free Koto Concert," where you can hear the sound of ivory substitutes.
ご支援の使い道
皆さまからのご寄付は、おもに国際会議への参加費用、事務経費、人件費に使わせていただきます。（法人化以降の会計書類はすべてウェブサイトで公開しています）

ご寄付を人件費に使うことに否定的なご意見もありますが、当団体は人こそが活動に最も重要と考えています。スタッフが継続して働いて経験を積み、人脈を広げるには最低限の人件費は必要です。給与は事務局としての労働に対して支払われ、役員報酬等はありません。
当団体は小さな組織ですので、お一人、お一人のご支援が大きな存在です。海外の大きな自然保護団体とは規模の上では比べ物になりませんが、オンリーワンの活動を続けるために、温かいご支援をお願いいたします。
寄付金は税の優遇措置が受けられます
当団体は認定NPO法人です。寄付金は、所得税、住民税（※東京都など自治体による）、相続税の優遇措置が受けられます。
個人 最大で（寄付金額－2000円）×(所得税40％＋住民税10％※)が減税されます
法人 損額算入限度額の枠が拡大されます
相続人 寄付をした相続財産が非課税になります
＊決済画面でご記入されたお名前、ご住所が領収書に記載されます。この領収書は確定申告の時の寄付金控除に必要になります。
JWCS is same rank of the US IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) in Japanese law. Under Japanese tax law there are deductions on income, corporation and inheritance taxes for donations.
