A HUGE thank you to everyone that came to our office opening event. It was a big success.
After a long time of searching for the perfect location and so much assistance from JANPIA (Mikami san) and Jsurp organisations (Yamamoto san and Hayashi san), we were so pleased to have found our place in Itabashi Ku.
We also got a visit from the wonderful Yonezawa san from the Itabashi City Hall. Thank you for the delicious jellies and cookies. We will continue to enjoy those cookies with the delicious coffee that Yoshikai san gave to us too.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity and warm spirit that you gave to us to celebrate this milestone for the Paruyon group. Including flowers from RSSC(立教セカンドステージ大学)シニアプロボノ研究会 group (Wickes san and Ikeuchi san) and Hanamura san and a hand-made wreath from Eda san from JSURP. It matches our green walls perfectly!
We also had representatives from MUJI come (Suzuki san) and show their support. In addition to a number of our Paruyon group members and foreign women.
We enjoyed spending time with you all, chatting and eating delicious hand-made Ukrainian foods made by members of our organisation. And even though she’s not Ukrainian, our volunteer from Australia made Ukrainian bread (Pampushky) that got the “thumbs up” from all of the Ukrainians at the event.
We were so pleased that so many of the Ukrainian community could come to this event and warmly celebrate our new space with colour and laughter.
We look forward to many more events in our new Tokyo base. It will allow us to provide a safe space for Foreign Women to talk about life in Japan, and begin to conduct face-to-face counselling sessions for Ukrainian refugees living in Japan.
