About Santa Soul Train / Santa Soul Trainとは
The Santa Soul Train is a community rebuilding project and is one in a series of community workshops and events held by Place To Grow for children and families recovering from earthquakes and disasters. Every year, during the holiday season we bring this message of hope, fun and friendship to Tohoku. The community members both young and old of Minamisanriku have become inspired volunteers themselves and together we are working to keep this holiday festival alive and develop it further into their community fabric and as a source of inspiration to the neighbouring towns. Santa Soul Train は東北大震災地域創生プロジェクトであり、Place To Growが主催する一連のワークショップやイベントの一つです。毎年12月、私たちは東北のみなさんに希望と友情が届けられるように頑張っています。結果、地元の方々も刺激され「inspired volunteers」としてご協力いただいてます。地元の方々のご協力があるからこそ、このプロジェクトを続けることができるのです。これからも、一緒に力を合わせてSanta Soul Trainが東北を活性化する重要な仕組みの一つになり続けられるよう力を尽くします。2018年Santa Soul Trainの楽しい様子をこの動画でぜひご覧ください！
About Place To Grow / Place To Growとは
Place To Grow (PTG) is a 100% volunteer-run NPO with the mission to Inspire the Next Generation of Tohoku by community building and it is considered to be the longest-running NPO in the Tohoku region. This is how we break the cycle of depression and loneliness that too often takes hold after major disasters. We continue to be that “someone in your corner” and intend to continue to be there for the people of Tohoku, especially kids. Since the beginning of the year, PTG teamed up with SOGO Fitness and with the support from local partner Minamisanriku Junior Academy, monthly workshops have been held to improve the kids' physical strength, English capability, meanwhile nurturing friendship and confidence.
Place To Grow (PTG) は「東北の子供たちをインスパイアする」というミッションを持つ一般社団NPO法人です。NPOの中でも長年活動が続いてて、東北と最も深い絆ある団体として認められてます。私たちは東北の皆さん、特に子供たちにとって身近な存在で居続けることができればと思っています。今年よりSOGO Fitnessとパートナーシップを組み、現地パートナーMinamisanriku Junior Academyを通して、毎月ラジオ体操や英会話教室などのワークショップを開催し、子供たちが体力を鍛えて、英語を学び、自分に自信を持てるよう、みんなで頑張ってます！
